Preparing Teens for the Real World

Mission

Almost Ready was created to help teens step into adulthood with confidence, responsibility, and real-world life skills.

Too many young adults leave high school unprepared for everyday challenges—managing money, communicating professionally, handling responsibilities, and making wise decisions. Almost Ready exists to close that gap.

The Story

I’ve spent years working in leadership roles where I’ve seen firsthand what happens when young adults enter the real world without the skills they need. Many struggle not because they lack intelligence or potential, but because no one ever taught them the practical skills of adulthood.

Almost Ready was created to give teens the tools, structure, and guidance they need before they face those challenges on their own.

The Approach

Almost Ready focuses on practical, real-world life skills, including:

  • Money management and budgeting

  • Communication and professionalism

  • Responsibility and time management

  • Decision-making and problem-solving

  • Independent living skills

The programs are structured, practical, and designed to build confidence through real application—not just theory.

Who This Is For

Almost Ready is designed for:

  • Teens ages 16–18

  • Parents who want their teen better prepared for adulthood

  • Students preparing for college, work, or independent living

  • Families who want structure, accountability, and guidance

Adulthood comes quickly. Confidence, responsibility, and independence don’t happen by accident—they are built through guidance and practice.

Almost Ready helps teens build those skills before they need them most.

About the Founder

Erik Miller, BBA, MBA, SHRM-CP

Erik Miller is a business and operations leader with over a decade of experience managing teams, facilities, and youth programs. In his current role working in a residential setting with teens, he sees firsthand what happens when young adults enter the real world without practical life skills. Many of the challenges these youth face are not due to a lack of intelligence or potential—but because no one ever taught them how to manage money, communicate professionally, handle responsibilities, or make sound decisions.

Erik earned his Bachelor of Business Administration magna cum laude and his MBA with a focus on leadership, strategy, and organizational effectiveness from King University. Erik is also a SHRM-Certified Professional, with expertise in workplace expectations, communication, and professional development. His work with at-risk youth and families inspired the creation of Almost Ready, with the goal of giving teens the structure, guidance, and practical skills they need before adulthood begins.

Almost Ready was created to close the gap between school and adulthood. The goal is simple: give teens the structure, guidance, and practical skills they need before they face life’s responsibilities on their own—so they can step into adulthood with confidence..
